Computer can’t boot

When you press the power button, your computer start to on, but the operating system does not want active (reveal themselves). That looks only dark colors on the monitor.

Noteworthy is, is there any sign of sound (beep) from your computer speakers? If there is, it means the BIOS that is installed on the motherboard to POST (Power On Self Test) when the computer is turned on and managed to detect the error. Notice the sound of it, and skewer with a list of beep below:

  • Beep once = computer is normal
  • Once long beep = There is a problem on your PC’s memory (RAM)
  • Once long beep, 3 time short beep = Problems found on the VGA card

If you hear is beep on, following the steps you need to do:

  1. Turn off your PC, unplug all cables, then open the casing.
  2. If you hear the once long beep, you can check on the memory card. Is it already installed in its slot properly. Unlock the memory card slot and remove it from the slot, make sure no damage to the memory card. You can see it physically, is there any scratches decides the copper track on memory card.
  3. If you hear the beep that indicates damage to the VGA, you should check the position of the VGA card in the slot. Make a check as a check on memory cards.
  4. Check the motherboard, if there are scratches that enables copper lines on the motherboard disconnected. Check the cables found on the PC, is the position is suitable position and connected properly.
  5. If the memory and VGA card checking is completed and there is no physical damage, try to plug back into their each slots and do not forget their slots properly locked. Restart your computer.
  6. If the incident is still the same, you can swap memory or VGA card to the other available slots. The possibility is a damaged slot. Restart the computer.

Actually there’s more beep to detect damage to the computer. Please note, that beep code on every BIOS is different. But until recently, the method most often performed to detect damage to the computer at boot time.
